A very warm welcome to St James (Daisy Hill). We are a larger than average primary school, catering for children between the ages of four and eleven. We have extensive and recently developed grounds and our school is filled with wonderful children who are keen to learn. We aim to provide a happy, caring and stimulating environment where there is equality of opportunity for all and where each child can develop to his/her full potential.
We value our children as individuals and nurture and guide them so that they develop self-respect, self-discipline, confidence, motivation and a thirst to keep on learning. We want our children to develop tolerance and understanding of others and the ability to work in co-operation with each other as responsible members of society.
We offer a rich and varied curriculum where our children can develop knowledge, skills and attitudes needed in our ever changing society. When our children leave us at the end of Y6, our hope is that they have had the best start to their journey and that ultimately, they fulfil their hopes and dreams.
We value our school and wider community very much, knowing that to successfully achieve the aims for our children; we must be a strong team. Therefore children, parents/carers, staff, governors and our church community work together, to achieve excellence within a caring Christian community of faith, hope and love.
